BCT GmbH was founded in 1986. A team of highly qualified engineers, computer specialists, mathematicians and application experts are responsible for R&D, service, training and consulting. BCT is a SME company and specialises in adaptive machining technologies for new part manufacture and repair of high-valued parts as well as in-process measuring and scanning solutions for high-end workshop applications.
Using adaptive machining technology, BCT will take care of the geometrical adaption of tool paths for additive as well as for subtractive processes in order to guarantee the geometrical accuracy of the hybrid-AM parts.
State-of-the-Art optical scanning systems will be used for on-machine/in-process geometrical measurements. During additive manufacturing process, after the build-up of a number of layers, the 3D scanning of the part will provide its actual shape. Adaptation software will then compare the current as-is shape versus the targeted shape to adjust the subsequent processing.
The adaption software will constitute/correct the NC paths for the additive manufacturing process for the subsequent layers. This closed loop geometry adaptation in AM processing will counter act distortions incurred without user interaction either immediately or just after the built-up of a layer.
During subtractive processing as milling, adaptation will be used to adjust the tool paths to the individually shaped part geometry.
